Friendly Challenges - What this means for the game.
Hey all!
As promised, a thread on how I perceive the coming 'Friendly Challenges' to impact the game.
I feel in order for anyone to take in what I have to say, you need to first know that I understand your concerns.
These are the 2 major concerns I believe most people have a gripe/concerns over:
- They killed sandboxing (Yay!), and then brought back sandboxing (Boo!).
- Skill in war will become obsolete with everyone being able to practice attacks over and over.
Initially... I was 100% against this. I have played for nearly 4 years, and warred since CW came out. Pushing through countless wars against modding clans and throwing iPad's across the room after being 1%'d be a Town Hall 3 then getting followed up with a 3 star. But I have had plenty of time to digest the info and reflect over it.
Now I want you to put on my size 10 shoes (Just in case any of you want to buy me some), and
TRY
to see this from my perspective.
I'll start this off with a question:
Who likes to make 2 new base layouts every 2 days?
I would be willing to bet that not many of you put up your hand. So automatically, the idea of recreating your opponents bases in war every 2 days is a bit of a put off. It takes a good 30-45 minutes to copy a Town Hall 11's base exactly as is. And doing that twice per war, every war would wreck most people's heads.
Now remember, this is just the base building part!
Not to mention you still have to perfect the attack. But before you can perfect the attack, you have to know who is attacking what base. And who will recreate the base that's being attacked. And then, both players have to be online at the same time, one of them not doing anything while the other practices on their base.
So already, it's a nightmare to coordinate (I bet many of you are already confused!).
But let's complicate it more! Cause... YOLO!
The person re-creating the base layout, needs to have near-on exactly the same level defences as the base being copied in order for it to be accurate. And, they have to know what is in the Clan Castle of the defender, and request those defending troops for the person practicing.
AND let's not forget traps! You have to know the exact placement spots, and what is in each spot!
And how do you know what the defending troops are, and where the traps are? By attacking the real base and hoping you can activate every single bomb, tesla and clan castle troop.
This then rules Prep Day out for planning and practicing attacks, meaning the war planner now has half the time to squeeze in a plan for the clan.
So, 2 more questions for you:
Do you want to coordinate a war, getting everyone to re-create bases so that other players can practice on them? And do you think that all of the above happening perfectly, even 1/10 wars is likely?
In conclusion, your opponent will have to have near on exact war weightings to yours per player, then use 50% of their attacks to find out what's in your clan castle, and where traps are. Then spend time recreating the bases. Then by some miracle organise timing for everyone to pair up and practice bases, while one person has to sit there and do nothing. And then FINALLY then try and re-create their practice attack for a 3 star with the pressure of everyone watching.
And the real kicker... if you really want to... You can do the exact same thing in your clan.
So please, before everyone freaks out! Take into consideration, that the amount of times you run into a clan who can pull all that off, will be miniscule.
Enjoy the fact that we can finally raid our leader's base! Or you can test your new def layout in legend before logging off for a -43! Or try out new attacking strategies before going into the real world with them.
The coming update is so jam packed with awesome stuff, there really is no reason to fret!
Thanks for your time!
